darryle--beautiful! My first bike was a new 1975 Z1B--shows how old I am!! :-)
Also--that's quite a nice shop you have there--neat and orderly.

It would be interesting to ride an old bike to compare to modern. I'll bet the difference would not be overwhelming except top speed.

Rook I think comparing old to new will be like comparing a 2018 Camaro to a 1973 ,

The suspension between those would make a significant difference for any driver with average skill. The old muscle cars were not very stable at high speed and the modern cars are much improved, I'm sure. Bikes having such a simple suspension that does a lot less than a car suspension in cornering--I doubt a rider with average skill could corner more than 10% faster with a modern bike. Top speed yes, modern vehicles are faster.

I don't know. My '76 kz900 wallowed in curves above 80mph no matter what i tried. Traded for '84 ninja 900 and the difference was amazing.

Been going back and forth between the 14 and the 9, the 9 is a get into trouble bike so light and nimble makes me act like I’m 20 years old again, it handles well, was a bit of a pain settin up sag on the rear shock(horizontal back link suspension)it likes to do wheelies, plenty of bottom end and midrange. Attracts a lot of questions, usually just after you get your gear on, few weeks ago I let a group of gixers and Ducati’s pass me on a nice little windy road, followed them for a bit, then picked them off one by one,so far my only complaints are no wind protection so 90 plus mph is bit to much buffeting and I whish it had a remote preload adjustment on the rear shock so I could make quick adjustments for when the wife wants to go for a ride. If you get a chance take one out for a test ride,it’s time machine you can go from 65 to 20 years old in minutes

Oh wow! HAHA! I clicked the email notice and read your post before realizing which thread I was in ... I thought you were describing a ZX9!!!

Anyway, that's pretty cool that it handles well enough to overtake Ducs and Suzis
